Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Aliya has spent the last decade developing her career as a storyteller and independent producer. Driven and passionate about her craft, Aliya is known to chase difficult stories until she can do them justice. After exploring the subject of early-onset Alzheimers in her first short documentary, she plans to dive into another subject close to her heart – sleeping disorders. This topic has been a passion of Aliya’s since she was very young, and with BLACKOUT she hopes to bring awareness to these conditions that are far more common than many people realize.

Talia Rocha
Cinematographer/Producer
Talia has emerged as an up-and-coming cinematographer, based in Toronto. She specializes in documentary and short form video content and is constantly developing her skills and pushing the boundaries in her field. Her work straddles a line between elegant and haunting, and has been featured in festivals all across North America. She believes whole-heartedly that the only limits in your life are those that you set yourself. Talia has recently partnered with Aliya to co-produce the BLACKOUT series.
